Information on statewide ballot issues

There are no statewide ballot issues on the August 5th, 2014 primary election ballot.


Information on other local ballot issues

Voters in the City of Seattle will only see one local ballot issue on their August 5th ballot, the Park District Proposition 1 (see above).

Seattle Municipal Court Judges


This year is a regularly scheduled election year for Seattle Municipal Court Judge Positions 1 through 7.

However, no more than two candidates filed for each position so those positions will not appear on the Primary Election ballot, only on the General Election ballot.

What will Seattle voters see on their November 4, 2014 General Election ballots?

Voters in the City of Seattle will see the following regularly scheduled elections on their General Election ballots:

-US House of Representatives
-Washington State Senate and House
-State Judicial Offices
-King County Prosecuting Attorney
-Seattle Municipal Court

They will also see several statewide ballot issues:

General Election Voters' Guide

 
As of July 9, 2014 they will also see the following local ballot issues on the General Election ballot:

-Initiative 107 and Proposed Alternative - Early Learning and Preschool

Other local ballot issues may appear on the General Election ballot


Seattle Mayor and City Attorney

The next regularly scheduled election for Mayor and City Attorney will be in 2017.

Seattle City Council - District Elections

Charter Amendment 19, passed by voters on November 5, 2013, mandated the following schedule for Council Races:
Position 2015 2017
1-Southwest 4 Year Term Not on Ballot
2-Southeast 4 Year Term Not on Ballot
3-East Central 4 Year Term Not on Ballot
4-Lake Union to Sand Point 4 Year Term Not on Ballot
5-North 4 Year Term Not on Ballot
6-Green Lake to Golden Gardens 4 Year Term Not on Ballot
7-Downtown to Discovery Park 4 Year Term Not on Ballot
8-At Large 2 Year Term 4 Year Term
9-At Large 2 Year Term 4 Year Term
